Lithium Quantum-Gas Apparatus
The lithium quantum-gas apparatus routinely prepares degenerate quantum gases of bosonic 7Li atoms and fermionic 6Li atoms. The apparatus has a tunable hexagonal optical lattice for studying quantum many-body physics (This was used most recently to build a phase microscope for quantum gases.). The lithium atom has a light mass and therefore high energy scales as well as broad Feshbach resonances for the control of the interaction strength. The apparatus moved from Hamburg to Dortmund and is currently under reconstruction.
